The current GMAT exam is 2 hours and 15 minutes long, with 64 questions across Quantitative Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning and Data Insights. Each section is 45 minutes long. This structure makes GMAT preparation more focused, business-oriented and data-driven.
Why GMAT Focus Matters
A strong GMAT score can support MBA admission, scholarship opportunities and business school applications, especially for students who want to prove quantitative, verbal and data reasoning ability.
Who Should Prepare for GMAT?
GMAT is useful for MBA applicants, business master’s applicants, finance students, analytics students, management professionals, career switchers and students applying to competitive business schools worldwide.
GMAT Focus Exam Structure
The GMAT Focus exam includes three scored sections. Students should prepare each section separately and then combine them through timed mock tests.
| Section | Questions | Time | Main Skills Tested |
|---|---|---|---|
| Quantitative Reasoning | 21 questions | 45 minutes | Arithmetic, algebra, problem solving, numerical logic and analytical reasoning. |
| Verbal Reasoning | 23 questions | 45 minutes | Reading Comprehension, Critical Reasoning, argument logic and evidence-based reading. |

GMAT Quantitative Reasoning Preparation
GMAT Quantitative Reasoning tests problem-solving ability using arithmetic and algebra concepts. The Quant section rewards logical thinking, clean calculation, fast elimination and the ability to translate word problems into mathematical relationships.
Number Property
Practice integers, factors, multiples, divisibility, remainders, primes and even/odd logic.
Algebra
Master equations, inequalities, exponents, roots, expressions, functions and variables.
Word Problems
Prepare rates, work, mixtures, ratios, percentages, interest and business-style math.
Advanced Topics
Improve statistics, probability, sets, sequences, coordinate reasoning and complex logic.
GMAT Verbal Reasoning Preparation
GMAT Verbal Reasoning focuses on Reading Comprehension and Critical Reasoning. Students must understand business-style passages, identify argument structure, evaluate evidence, find assumptions and choose answers supported by the text or argument.
Reading Comprehension
RC questions test main idea, detail, inference, tone, author purpose and passage structure. Students should learn to read actively, map paragraphs and avoid unsupported answer choices.
Critical Reasoning
CR questions test assumptions, strengthen, weaken, inference, evaluate, plan and argument-role logic. Students should identify conclusion, evidence and reasoning gaps before reading answer choices.
GMAT Data Insights Preparation
Data Insights is one of the most important parts of the GMAT Focus Edition. It tests whether students can analyze data from different formats and make accurate decisions. MKS Education provides dedicated practice for every Data Insights question type.
Data Sufficiency
Decide whether the given statements provide enough information to answer a question.
Multi-Source Reasoning
Analyze information from multiple tabs, documents, tables, charts or notes.
Table Analysis
Sort, filter, compare and evaluate data presented in table format.
Graphics Interpretation
Interpret charts, graphs, visual data, axes, legends, trends and comparisons.
Two-Part Analysis
Solve two connected answer parts using math, logic, data or verbal reasoning.
Integrated Data Skill
Combine quantitative, verbal and data reasoning for business-style decision-making.
